If you received a toll invoice but you weren’t driving
If you received a toll invoice or demand notice and you didn’t travel on a toll road, it might be because:
- You recently sold your vehicle
- Someone else was driving your vehicle
- Your vehicle or licence plates were stolen
If your vehicle or licence plates were stolen, please contact us as soon as possible. You'll need to provide us with a copy of the police report or the Incident Report Number, and the name of the police station where the vehicle or licence plate was reported stolen.
Nominate another driver
If you've received a toll invoice or demand notice for a vehicle you've sold, or you weren't driving the vehicle when the toll was incurred, you can transfer it to the correct person. This is called a toll invoice nomination.
If the other driver is responsible for all the trips listed on the invoice, you can complete the nomination online. If you're unable to complete the nomination online, for example if there are multiple trips listed and the other driver isn't responsible for all of them, you can complete a statutory declaration form.
You should do this at least 10 days before the due date indicated on the toll demand notice.
A statutory declaration is a written statement, witnessed and signed by an 'authorised person' (a legal practitioner or a Justice of the Peace).
