How can we help?

Overdue and unpaid toll invoices

If you travel on a toll road without an active toll account or pass, you’ll receive a toll invoice. It will be sent to the postal address of the vehicle’s registered owner within 2-3 weeks of your travel date.

If you don't pay your toll invoice by the due date, we'll send a final toll invoice to the vehicle's registered owner. You will have 14 days to pay the final toll invoice. Like the first invoice, the final toll invoice will include tolls plus additional fees.

If you don’t pay this final invoice, the vehicle’s registered owner may receive a fine from Victoria Police or be referred to a debt collection agency. Once an infringement notice has been issued by Victoria Police we can't withdraw or cancel it.

Every toll invoice includes the cost of your travel and a toll invoice fee that covers the cost of producing and sending the invoice.  You don’t need to pay the fee if you open an account or  buy a pass shortly after travelling.*

*Avoid a toll invoice by paying within 1-9 days of travelling, depending which account or pass you choose. Find out more.

Ways to pay for your toll invoice

If you have a Linkt account, you can:

  • Transfer the toll invoice to your account
  • Use the Linkt app to pay your toll invoice

If you don’t have a Linkt account, or you’re having trouble logging in, you can:

  • Pay your toll invoice online
  • Find an outlet to pay in person

Unpaid toll invoice reminders

If we find unpaid toll invoices from the last 30 days for any vehicle linked to your account, we'll display an unpaid toll invoice reminder in your account.

If you:

  • Were driving the vehicle at the time, please pay these invoices as soon as possible to avoid additional fees
  • Own the vehicle but weren't driving it at the time, you can nominate another driver to pay the invoice
  • Didn't own the vehicle at the time of travel, we recommend removing the vehicle from your account. The vehicle's owner will receive the toll invoice

Avoid future toll invoices

If you use Australian toll roads at least a few times a year, you may prefer to open an account or buy a pass to cover your travel. With Prepaid and Postpaid payment options, an active Linkt account means you’re always good to go.

Setting up an account or pass before you use a toll road – or arranging one up to 9 days after – will help you avoid the admin fees in a toll invoice. So, it can often work out to be a more cost-effective way to pay for your toll road travel.

With a Prepaid, Postpaid or Commercial Account, you can cover trips made up to 9 days ago in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, except for EastLink (VIC), and the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Tunnel (NSW). Learn more about covering past trips.

Is the toll invoice really from us?

If something about a email or sms seems odd to you, the best thing you can do is take a minute and come back to it with fresh eyes.

We do not ask you to provide payment details via links in text messages or emails, and we encourage you to always log in directly to your account – whether that’s via the Linkt website or the Linkt app.

Some practical things to look out for are:

  • incorrect spelling and grammar.
  • strange links that don’t look like legitimate websites
  • vague or unspecific details, and
  • the use of urgent language or threats/consequences if you don’t take immediate action.

Just because they say it’s from Linkt doesn’t mean it’s from us. Check out the ways we'll contact you.
