How do taxis access Sydney Airport holding areas?
You need an active NSW toll account‡ and tag to access the specified holding areas and terminal taxi ranks at Sydney Airport.
You won’t be able to access the airport if:
- you forget your tag
- you’re travelling on a Sydney pass
- your account is suspended
- your tag was issued by Linkt Melbourne or Linkt Brisbane or any toll retailer outside NSW
If you have a NSW Retailer issued tag but can’t get into the Primary Holding Area, it may be that your account is suspended. You’ll need to top up your account before making any airport pick-ups or drop-offs.
You can check your balance and top up your account by logging in online, or with the Linkt app. Find out more about the Linkt app.
Airport charges will appear on your statement as ‘Sydney Airport'.
‡ You need a NSW tag and toll account to access the Sydney Airport taxi holding area. If your tag was issued by a toll retailer not in NSW, including Linkt Melbourne or Linkt Brisbane, it cannot be used to access Sydney airport.
