  • Fact sheet - How to pay

You have different options to pay your toll road trips in Melbourne. How you pay depends on the type of payment arrangement you have and how you set it up.

Pay with an account

When you open an account with Linkt, you can manage and pay your tolls online or on the Linkt app (currently unavailable for our Commercial Account).

All of our accounts let you travel on any toll road Australia-wide.

Cover trips made up to 9 days ago on all toll roads in Victoria, NSW or Queensland, excluding Harbour Bridge, Harbour Tunnel, and Eastlink.

Prepaid account

  • Auto & manual top-up: Auto will top-up when your account balance reaches a low balance state. Manual you can choose when and how much you wish to top-up.
  • Online or via the Linkt app with a debit or credit card, or auto payments from a linked credit card or bank account
  • BPAY (manual top up only)
  • In person/with cash at participating newsagents or United Petroleum outlets. Minimum payment is $20 by debit card, credit card, or cash. Find a location.

Postpaid account

  • Auto payments only after travel: Your card is charged at the end of the day from your linked credit or debit card.
  • Direct debit available when you link your bank account

Commercial account

  • Auto & manual top-up: Auto will top-up when your account balance reaches a low balance state. Manual you can choose when and how much you wish to top-up.
  • Credit or debit cards payments available (a payment card surcharge applies)
  • Direct debit available when you link your bank account (auto pay only)
  • BPAY payments available (manual payments only)

Pay with a pass

You can buy a pass to cover toll road travel for specific periods or roads.

Cover CityLink trips made up to 5 days ago, and EastLink trips made up to 3 days ago (Visitors Pass only).

  • Visitor's Pass
  • 24 Hour CityLink Pass
  • Weekend Pass

IMPORTANT: Weekend Pass and CityLink 24 Hour Pass does not cover travel on EastLink.

Pay without logging in

You can make a quick payment to your account or Visitor’s Pass without logging in. All you need is your account or pass number and your payment card details.

Pay in person

If you'd like to pay in person use your postcode or address to find your nearest participating outlet.

  • Manually top up a Prepaid Account
  • Buy a 24 Hour Pass
  • Buy a CityLink Weekend Pass
  • Pay a toll invoice

Pay with a toll invoice

Without an active account or a valid pass, you’ll receive a toll invoice to cover the cost of any toll road trips you make.

If you travel on a toll road without paying for it, you’ll receive a toll notice in the mail within 4 weeks. Toll notices include the cost of your unpaid trip, and an administration fee for each toll road travelled. Using a toll notice to pay for your travel is more expensive. If you receive a toll invoice, you can pay it:

  • Online or on the Linkt app
  • By transferring it to your Linkt account
  • In person at participating retail outlets
  • Over the phone with a credit or debit card on 13 33 31.
