Brisbane Convoy for Kids

On Saturday 2 November, 1,000 trucks will make a 65km journey along the Logan and Gateway Motorways from Larapinta to Redcliffe.

This is part of Brisbane’s Convoy for Kids aiming to raise funds for Hummingbird House Brisbane, Queensland’s first and only children’s hospice.

The road freight industry is critical to keep goods and services moving across Queensland. Transurban is proud to once again be sponsoring this event supporting the local trucking community, and helping to raise funds for charity.

Transurban’s incident response team will assist the Brisbane Convoy for Kids trucking convoy to safely make their way along the Logan and Gateway Motorways to Redcliffe.

What do I need to know?

Motorists are advised to drive safely near the convoy, keep right and follow signage. The Logan Motorway Paradise Road eastbound on-ramp will be closed from 5am to 3pm to allow the trucks participating in the convoy to safely enter the motorway.

Transurban’s Logan West Upgrade team will be at the Convoy’s truck show in the Redcliffe showgrounds from 9am to 12pm. The team will answer any questions you may have about the project and hear your feedback.

About Convoy for Kids

The event started many years ago after a conversation between a local Logan truck driver and his 10-year-old nephew with special needs, who desperately wanted to ride in a big truck.

The event has raised a total of over $1 million in the last eleven convoys, providing funding support to children’s charities across South-East Queensland.

Upon arrival at the Showgrounds, the trucks participate in a Truck Show, all hoping to be best in class in a range of categories, with thousands turning out for the family fun day, with live entertainment and an evening fireworks display.
