Buying a pass
How passes work
A pass is a convenient option if you only use toll roads occasionally. Whenever you pass through a toll point, our cameras will read your licence plate number and link it to your pass. When your accrued tolls and fees reach $10 or more, we’ll deduct them from your credit card.
You can buy a pass before you travel or within 5 days of your Citylink trip to avoid a toll notice.
How to buy a pass
You can pay for all our passes online with an accepted credit or debit card, including the:
All passes, except for the Visitor’s Pass, can also be purchased in person with cash or card.

With a Visitor's Pass, you pay for your travel on CityLink and EastLink as you go – your tolls will be charged at the end of each day you travel. Additional costs on your pass could be:
- Payment card surcharges
- Video matching fees ($0.35 - $0.55) – we use tolling cameras to identify your vehicle's licence plate number whenever you travel through a toll point
- Standard toll charges – these are charged at the end of each day of travel and are based on you trips
